LADDER TYPE SERIES 200
Ladder design is a prefabricated reinforcement for embedment in the horizontal mortar joints of the masonry. It is manufactured in 10’8″ lengths from wire conforming to ASTM A 82/A82M for cold drawn steel wire. It consists of two or more parallel and deformed longitudinal wires welded to a perpendicular cross wire spaced 16″ O.C. Out-to-out spacing in approximately two inches less than the nominal thickness of the wall.
Ladder design spaced 16″ O.C positions cross rods on a web of a block to allow core clearance. This simplifies rebar installation; centering utilizes the strength of grout. It allows the unrestricted flow of grout or loose-fill insulation into CMU cells. Minimize the re-setting of joint reinforcement around the rebar. Improves resistance to shrinkage cracking. It provides a stronger bond with cross rods on the web of a block. Less time devoted to rebar installation and grout pouring.
